| Hi, there, Bernie here with your latest copy of The Grit. I hope you’re doing well. I’m thrilled to let you know that you can now stream the full, uncut version of the Lost Sea Expedition for free. ![]() The Lost Sea Expedition is about my mule Polly and my 395-day solo voyage across America in our handmade wagon. Just Mule Polly and Me: No crew. No drones. No AI. Twenty years ago, I hitched my mule Polly to our handmade wagon in Neptune, Saskatchewan and headed south. Over the next 14 months, we traveled 2,500 miles to Fort Hancock, Texas, on the Rio Grande — the border with Mexico — following the path of an ancient sea, the Western Interior Seaway, that once covered the Great Plains. I filmed every mile of it myself. No crew. No drones. No AI. Just paper maps, two movie cameras, and whatever I could figure out on my own. When I needed an aerial shot, I climbed a windmill. The Lost Sea Expedition premiered on Rocky Mountain PBS and won the WINNIE Award at the EQUUS International Film Festival. But PBS needed four episodes. That meant cutting my feature-length film into pieces. I always felt it needed to be seen whole. Today, for the first time, it is. The full, uncut, original feature-length version of the Lost Sea Expedition is now free on YouTube. ![]() Watch the Lost Sea Expedition — free on YouTube I hope spring has started well for you. Now join Polly and me for the Lost Sea Expedition. Enjoy your mule wagon ramble across America! Bernie TravelGrit.com Enter your email to be among the first to get the next issue of The Grit. |
